Content Marketing Examples (Script Notes)

Today I will be talking about content marketing examples for travel industries.

Content marketing can include lots of different techniques, for example:

A popular choice is via blog articles. Blog posts are created to deliver relevant information that’s easy to access to everyone.

Travel companies such as Trending Travel post regular blogs on their channel with the help of current social media influencers. The influencers share links on their platforms to get the blog noticed and viewed as much as possible. Compare this to Ryanair who do not have a blog page. Instead, Ryanair have a travel tips section on their main website. This maybe passed by if users are not aware its there if there is no direct link to the page from the main website

Instagram is also a very popular social media platform used by companies all over the world. Instagram can be used to share information, offers, tips, advice and other important content with followers. I had noticed that Hays Travel the independent travel agents used their Instagram page the most effectively, but had not accumulated as many followers as other travel companies such as Ryanair. Hays creates and publishes regular posts including lots of relevant travel information whereas Ryanair use their Instagram page mostly to share travel related memes and videos.

Another great content marketing tool I have found is email newsletters. These can cause problems to companies as emails sent too often to subscribers, you can run the risk of people un subscribing. However, if the content is useful and encourages customers to their website, it can potentially create future sales.

I noticed with Tui’s email newsletter the emails would include a button like ‘discover now’ or ‘yes please’. By clicking on these links, you are taken exactly where you need to be on the website.

I also looked into flight magazines as an example of content marketing. I had researched into United Airlines and found they have created a magazine of their own called ‘Hemisphere’.

The paper form of this magazine has now been discontinued however all future issues of the magazine can be accessed online. This is beneficial to younger clientele who are familiar with this type of technology however, the older generation may struggle to figure out how to access and download this type of content. This runs the risk of losing potential future sales due to it being un accessible
