How consumers use technology and its impact on their lives

Around 5.26 billion people around the world are using or have access to the internet. That is equivalent to 64.4% of the total world’s population. This has increased significantly from when the internet was first introduced. Back in the 1990s when the internet was first accessible to the public and not just for universities, services and health care, figures were showing that 16 million people had access to the internet. This is only 0.4% of the world’s population. This is a large jump in the number of users over the last 20-30 years. In the beginning, the internet was only accessible through wired up computers. Today, the internet can be accessed through tablets, phones and even watches, all with wireless connection. With the internet and devices limitless availability, consumers can complete tasks quickly and easily.
